Untimely death of 22 year old LAFD Recruit Firefighter Jacob Fuerte. We are all feeling the tragic loss of our brother who was only 10 weeks into his Drill Tower Academy.
Recruit Fuerte was on his way to the Drill Tower when, after getting out at a traffic accident, he was hit himself by another vehicle. He had to be determined deceased at the scene by our own responding LAFD firefighter paramedics. The accident occurred at 5:14 AM on April 15, 2024, on the northbound US 101 Freeway at Vineland Avenue in Studio City. This was a hit and run that the CHP is investigating.
Jacob Fuerte is son of a 17 year veteran firefighter/paramedic with the LAFD. He is survived by his father, two sisters, and a brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with their family during this unimaginably difficult time.
